So you graduated, and you’re working a job you …..like? It helps to pay the bills, it helps put clothes on your back, and once in a while you save up enough to leave and take a vacation with friends. But is this really the life you dreamed of living ? Wakening up every morning and doing the exact same thing, over and over to where your life becomes a routine.
My sister and I both struggle with our daily personal and professional lives. Whenever things began to feel stagnant we try to enhance our lives with new sets of tasks to achieve. We personally got tired of feeling like we weren’t giving birth to all the talents we have inside of us , so we decided to take action. 1/2 of Nkemlife works a “9 to 5” ,while the other half of Nkemlife is a full-time entrepreneur in several regards . We would both like to be full time entrepreneurs with infinite incomes but the journey has not been easy.
Everyday, after we do the things we need to do to pay our bills, we sit down and work on the things that make us feel alive. Here are some tips we have applied to our lives after trial and error that has helped us get to a more consistent and more balanced life.
- If you find yourself bored at work, see this as a blessing in disguise. Sometimes pure boredom is a sign that you are not challenging your mind enough. If you are bored in your career, it’s a sign you need to add something new to your life. May it be a new hobby, new workout routine, new hair style or a new career?
- Use your boredom as a stepping stone to create a life you always wanted to live.
- Don’t wait for it to be 5 o’clock at your local bar in order to be happy.
Every hour in your life should be happy hour.
- Don’t allow happiness to come in a row of shots that only lasts for a couple of hours. You deserve more than that, because you are more than 2 to 3 hours of temporary bliss.
So you choose, an hour of happiness or a life time? It’s up to you. God has more for all of us, It’s just that many of us don’t understand what he wants to do with our lives.
