We had never been before so we were not sure what to expect. But once we saw all the people dressed in green and white or waving Naija flags my sister and I knew we were in the right place.

As Nigerian Americans living in America, we felt privileged and beyond joyous to be able to shut down 54th street to 44th Street with Naija Pride.

Nigerians are a people of much pride, and it felt so good to share such pride with fellow Nigerians and Nigerian-Americans on our Independence day. One of the greatest things about America is that is allows immigrants and children of immigrants, such as our selves, to celebrate our culture.
