Last night, my Sister and I were invited to a private VIP 3 year anniversary party of Nubian Hueman Boutique ran by owner, creative director and good friend Ms. Annika Hobs. We were so honored when we first received the invite because Nubian Hueman has played a major part in our growth as artists and has created a platform and space for bloggers/creatives like us, to display our work in Washington D.C.
The creative scene in dc is ever evolving and always changing. Nubian Hueman boutique is an influential part of the positive changes taking place in D.C.’s history. Luckily, we were blessed enough to join the Nubian Hueman community when we returned from our trip to Nigeria March 2015. Nubian Hueman has become a staple within the creative scene in D.C. for black diverse artists and entrepreneurs to come show and sell their works.
So far, Nubian Hueman has helped my Sister and I on our road to entrepreneurship and the power of black women collaborating in many ways than one. We’ve held an exhibition called ‘Journey for Regina’ photography series, ‘Sisiterhood’ at the black love experience, and artwork.
So in honor of the hard work Annika and her awesome team we drank endless champagne, ate Pescatarian inspired meals, ran into old and new faces like Mykalee Mcgowan and grooved with DJ Lawrence Green to the latest vibes like ‘Cranes in the Sky’ from Solange’s album #ASeatAtTheTable.
Annika we are so proud of you, thank you for everything you have done to support us, for believing in our vision and we look forward to supporting Nubian Hueman in growing and branching out to a new location. We are a collective community getting thicker one dream and one feather at a time. To learn more about how you can support and be a part of history click here.
