Margaritas, Rain, Snapchat,Best friends,& running into High school and Elementary friends that you usually only get to see on Facebook.
All packed with what felt like 10,000 people in rainy weather and a sea of mud.
Broccoli City Festival 2017 was truly an EXPERIENCE. Personally, to us it was the best one yet, we quickly noticed the growth of the Festival since we first attended Broccoli City Fest in 2015.
Oh and did we mention Solange?
This year, there was more than one stage place is different locations, so it automatically made it feel like an AfroPunk festival. As soon as we saw Solange’s name on the lineup, we knew this years Broccoli City Festival could do no wrong.
After seeing her perform, every penny spent on that concert was worth it. Solange sang, Weary, F.U.B.U., Junie, Don’t Touch My Hair and of course Cranes in the Sky. When she performed F.U.B.U., rows of black fists rose in solidarity as people nodded their heads to the music, which added to the experience of her performance. For a just few minutes we felt like, the 2017 Broccoli City Festival managed to temporarily bring some chocolate back into the District.
