D.C.’s first ever Jollof Festival was EPIC!
Now, let’s gist on how it all went down.
Jollof Festival DC exposed people to various aspects of African culture that exists outside of the spices we season our food with. The Festival was packed with food, drinks, music, and good times in beautiful company. All of the DMV’s favorite Jollof restaurants were rounded up under one roof.
After the blind tasting of Jollof rice was tasted by various countries during the first ever Jollof Hackathon, the best Jollof restaurant was determined. Of course Naija won the Jollof Wars competition, but we are little bias of course. To our surprise the Nigerian restaurant we grow up eating QueensWay Restaurant , won the contest. If you are ever in the Riverdale Maryland area be sure to stop by for a quick bite.
Through out the fest guest thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the Ankara Bazaar shopping lounge while TAG SOUNDZ bumped all the lasted Afrobeat jams. Overall, Jollof Festival DC set the record straight that as to who makes the best Jollof Rice.
We know that next years festival will be even bigger because we Africans love to live vibrantly in color, from our rice to our choice of clothes, its always filled with taste.
