When we first envisioned our trip to L.A, all we could think of was tanning, taking our sandals off and getting our feet wet. Yet the hustle and bustle of Downtown L.A did not provide those little pleasures so easily. By our third day in L.A we both decided we were going to make it to the beach even if we had to Uber our way there LOL. Everyone knows, you simply can’t visit California without going to the beach.
My sister and I enjoyed our experiences in downtown L.A but the city was overwhelming at times. (Stay Tuned for more on our LA Experience) We knew Malibu beach would be the perfect mental escape we needed from the city; our little vacation from our vacation. So we packed our beach bags and deiced to make our to journey to Malibu beach a road trip.
Most of the beaches were about an hour away from downtown L.A, so we needed a car in order to make it out there to the beach. Luckily, one of our good friends, Jamal Lamont, cleared his scheduled and took us to the beach for the day. On the way there he informed us that if you really wanted to experience the beauty of California, you would need a car.
Malibu was our dream beach destination because we just felt as though the stories we had heard of Malibu matched our vibe and boy did it live up to our expectations. If you are an avid reader of our blog, you will know my sister and I love nature. and being outdoors. What we didn’t expect was for the views to be so scenically beautiful on the way to Malibu beach.
On our way there, we had to stop and just take in God’s beautiful handiwork.
The ride on our way to Malibu beach was such an unforgettable experience. The windy roads and scenic view left us speechless, the further and further away we got from the smug of the city the closer the closer we got to fresh air.
It was like day and night, in Malibu million dollar homes nestled high above us into the clouds. There was no way to compare the environment to Downtown L.A.
As we got closer to our destination, beautiful palms trees greeted us one by one as if they were domino’s pieces lined up on a wooden floor. Everything just felt as though it was placed perfectly, from the way the wind blew to the way the sun fell softly on our skin. We simply enjoyed
just laying out reading and tanning as we soaked up as much of the sun as we could.
California has a plethora of beaches but we decided to visit Point Dume State beach in Malibu. This little corner of Malibu felt as if it was all our own. If you are feeling adventurous you can even go rocking climbing down the cliff, right into the ocean.
If you plan on visiting California in the future and you are looking for a beautiful beach to check out, we highly recommend Point Dume State beach in Malibu, it’s private and peaceful.
