After getting several requests this year on our travel adventures we decided to share some of the low cost, culturally rich places that we travel to; introducing our new blog feature, #NkemLifeTravels. So this year we headed back to Brooklyn again to attend BAM DanceAfrica 2016 Bazaar to allow you all to get a feel of BAM through our lens.
BAM is Brooklyn’s Academy of Music #DanceAfrica Bazaar. BAM is s massive festival held once a year typically during memorial day weekend. BAM features more than 150 vendors from around the world, offering African, Caribbean, and African-American food, crafts and fashion. Located in Brooklyn New York between Ashland place and Lafayytee Avenue.
From the first time we attended to now, celebrating the 39th one, the festival has truly grown. WE even ran into a couple of friends from he creative scene the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
Featuring vendors and performs from all backgrounds, using art and creativity to uplift and restore cultural awareness. Our goals for attending was to simply experience the cultural aspects of the Festival, meet and connect with fellow creative’s of color; which is exactly what naturally happened.
